My name is Christine and I’m a mom of 2 boys. One here on earth and one recently in heaven. What brought me to 519 clothing to ask for their help is I want to raise awareness for Suicide Prevention as my youngest son Mackenzie committed suicide on October 21, 2021 and this has devasted me to the core as well as other family members and his friends. He suffered from Mental illness for a few years and thought he could handle it on his own. We asked him numerous times if we could help him get help but he always refused saying he could handle this. I believe the stigma that surrounds young men about not reaching out for help, speaking about their feelings or to cry is what caused my son, my baby to do what he did. I have been struggling since his death to come to terms and accept what he did. I know in my heart he did it to end his pain but I don’t think he realized what or how the rest of us who were close to him had to handle this or deal with his death and how he did it. What haunts me the most is that he died alone in the woods and never got to say goodbye or hug him one last time. My goal and what I feel is my purpose right now is to raise awareness as much as I can because if I can prevent one family from going through what mine is then that will make this a great thing. We have put together a team to walk on September 10th in Victoria Park for the World Suicide Prevention Awaraness day, please join us or buying one of these shirts to help support FEMAP and LMSPC.
